イギリス鉄道395形電車 (British Rail Class 395、クラス395) は、イギリスのサウスイースタン鉄道の高速列車用電車である。ロンドンから英仏海峡トンネルの入口があるケント県フォークストン間の高速新線・CTRLの速達化を目的として、2009年12月から最高速度225 km/h (140 mph) での運行を開始した[2][3]。投げ槍を意味するジャベリン（Javelin）の愛称がある。
2012年に開催されたロンドンオリンピックの会場アクセス用列車「オリンピックジャベリン」 (Olympic Javelin) としても使用された。
概説
英国内の高速新線を使用した高速列車に使用される電車編成であり、日本の車両メーカー（日立製作所）が初めて製作した欧州の高速鉄道車両として注目されている[4][5]。
当初は、2億5千万ポンドで28編成の発注が、その後に1編成の追加発注（合計29編成）が、日立製作所に対してなされ、山口県下松市の笠戸事業所で製造された。2007年8月23日に、最初の編成がサウサンプトン港に陸揚げされた[6]。2007年8月から、委託会社であるSerco（サーコ）によって試運転が行われるため、まず4編成が受領されている。残りの編成は、2008年から2009年にかけて受領され、2009年8月17日に全ての編成の納入を完了した。電車は、ケント県のアシュフォード車両基地を拠点とする。395形は、車両保有会社であるHSBCホールディングス傘下の車両リース会社エバーショルト・レール・グループ（英語版）（旧：HSBCレール社）が保有し、同社からサウスイースタンにリースされる。
全ての編成にイギリスのメダリストの愛称名が付けられる予定になっており、第1編成はケリー・ホームズ選手（女子陸上）にちなんで「ティム・ケリー」と名づけられた[7]。
2009年12月18日、イギリスを襲った大寒波により、英仏海峡トンネルを走っていたユーロスターの車両がトンネル内で故障し、およそ500人の乗客および乗員がトンネル内に閉じ込められる事故が発生した。当局はトンネル内に閉じ込められた乗客を救うため、395形を救援列車として英仏海峡トンネルへ向かわせ、取り残されていた乗員乗客全員を16時間ぶりに救出した[8]。
2010年4月14日、「英国High Speed 1路線向け高速鉄道車両（Class395車両）の開発」に対し、車両メーカーである日立製作所が第39回日本産業技術大賞「内閣総理大臣賞」を受賞した。
仕様
A-trainの技術を用いたダブルスキン構造のアルミニウム合金製の車体を採用する。車両設計にあたり、英国及び欧州の規格（RGS及びTSI[9]）を満たす必要があったため、先頭形状について新幹線車両設計時に使用されたトンネル微気圧波シミュレーション技術が用いられている[10][11][12][13][14]。
編成は両端の制御車と中間電動車4両からなる6両固定編成を組んでおり、最大で2編成を併結した12両編成での運行が可能である。電気方式は高速線区間の交流電化（25,000V・架空電車線方式）と在来線の直流電化（750V ・第三軌条方式）の双方に対応している。パンタグラフは両端の制御車に設置されている。
保安装置はETCS（ヨーロッパの鉄道における統一システム）、TVM430（LGVやCTRLで使用されている自動列車制御装置）、Train Protection & Warning System（TPWS、自動列車停止装置）、KVB（セント・パンクラス駅構内で使用されている地上信号方式）を搭載する。その他、GPSを用いて列車の位置を演算し、プラットホーム上の定位置に列車を止める装置も装備している。

Four Eurostar trains stuck in Channel tunnel
More than 2,000 people have been evacuated from four Eurostar trains that were trapped in the Channel tunnel after breaking down due to the cold weather.
The trains are believed to have failed as they left the cold air in northern France and entered the warmer air inside the tunnel.
The four trains had been moved from the tunnel and passengers were being transferred to England, said a Eurostar spokesman.
Some passengers were evacuated to shuttle trains that carry vehicles but others were stuck overnight. Many complained about the conditions on the stranded trains.
Lee Godfrey, who was travelling back from Disneyland Paris with his family, said they were left overnight without light, air conditioning, food or water.
Passengers opened emergency doors by themselves and set off down the tunnels to find refuge on another train, he said.
"We were without power. We ran out of water, we ran out of food and there was very very poor communication from the staff," he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
"We lost air conditioning when we lost the power. We had to open the emergency doors ourselves. The evacuation procedure we followed was one that we set down ourselves.
"We have had children asleep on the floor, they have been sick. It has been a complete nightmare.
"It was very scary for the children and elderly people. We had a lady in a wheelchair and a lady who was seven months pregnant and we had asthma attacks, people were fainting on the train. It was just pandemonium. People were very, very panicky."
Godfrey said their train left Disneyland Paris at about 6.30pm GMT but 14 hours later had only just reached Folkestone, having first been taken back to Calais this morning where passengers were given food and drinks.
Another passenger, Philippe Serna from Lincolnshire, said his train left Paris at 4.30pm GMT and was stuck in the tunnel for about four hours.
"Then they announced there would be another train coming to meet us. We got out and walked down the tunnel only a short distance, and Kent fire brigade were there, and they put us on a shuttle which took us to Folkestone where we got back on another Eurostar which brought us here.
"The journey was very long but it was fine to be honest – just boring, frustrating and a bit stuffy."
Eurostar spokesman Bram Smets said "very limited services" were expected to resume today and tomorrow but passengers were advised not to travel this weekend if their journey was not essential.
Another Eurostar spokesman said: "We have done all we have can to get people to their destination as quickly as possible. Obviously we understand people's frustration."
The tunnel closure exacerbated the travel problems caused by the cold weather in Kent. Kent police issued an urgent warning for drivers to stay away from the Folkestone and Dover areas of the M20.
The police have brought in Operation Stack, which allows lorries to park along sections of the M20, to ease congestion near the Eurostar terminal.
There have been tailbacks on the A20 into Dover after ferries were stopped for several hours due to severe weather in France.
A Dover spokesman said all ferry services to Dunkirk, Boulogne and Calais were running normally, and it was able to receive ferries and traffic.
He said: "The port is still full and traffic continues to queue on the A20 into Dover. Customers intending to sail to Calais are advised not to set out for the port without checking with their operator first."
Police urged people to stay away from traffic-clogged routes around Dover and Folkestone.
Chief Superintendent Matthew Nix, from Kent Police, said: "We would appeal to everyone to consider whether their journey is really necessary. Because of the problems with the Channel Tunnel and the Port of Calais, it will take a considerable time to clear the backlog."
More snow is expected across the UK in the next 24 hours.
Helen Rossington, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, said north-east England and Yorkshire could see 10-15cm of snow on high ground, while southern and eastern England were likely to get 2-5cm.

Eurostar suspends services for third day
Eurostar has said there will be no services for a third day on Monday while further tests are carried out on its fleet of trains.
But commercial director Nick Mercer said engineers have now pinpointed the cause of electrical problems and he hoped services would resume shortly.
Thousands of passengers were trapped on five trains in the Channel Tunnel on Friday and Saturday in wintry weather.
The company is transporting 500 of its "most vulnerable" passengers to France.
Train improvements
Mr Mercer said severe snowy conditions in northern France had caused snow to be ingested into trains in a way never seen before.
He said tests would be carried out on Monday with new modifications and it was hoped there would be an announcement later in the day that services would be able to resume.
He said screens and shields designed to prevent snow getting into electrics had failed and needed to be improved.
There was a severely disrupted service on Saturday, with 31,000 ticket holders forced to change their travel plans.
All services were cancelled on Sunday and a further 27,000 people were left stranded.
On Sunday evening, an emergency plan was introduced to put "vulnerable" stranded passengers on Javelin trains to Dover to catch ferries and then coaches on to Paris and Brussels.
The company ran test trains without passengers on Sunday after five trains broke down in the tunnel on Friday when condensation affected electrical systems.
Another train, which had been laid on to try to clear the backlog, suffered the same fate on Saturday night.
Those stranded complained of a lack of food and drink, power supplies and information, and there were further problems when some rescue trains themselves broke down.
'Shrugged shoulders'
A Eurostar spokeswoman said: "We have managed to get 500 passengers on to a Javelin high-speed train to Dover Priory and from there we bussed them on to a ferry to take them on to Paris and Brussels.
"They were the most vulnerable people, who needed to get back home to France and Belgium."
No arrangements were in place for Britons stuck in France, she added.
Lauren Copping, from Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, said her three-year-old son Joshua was stranded in France after going to Disneyland Paris with his father.
She told BBC News: "Eurostar staff have been not very helpful at all.
"They went down to the check-in desk and they just shrugged their shoulders at them.
"I spoke to my son this morning. He is crying and wants to come home and we just can't get him home."
Ferry operator P&O is transporting a fleet of coaches across the Channel and on to Paris and Brussels to help people stranded by the cancellation of Eurostar services.
Spokesman Chris Laming said: "To avoid them having to spend a night at terminals in either Calais or Dover, we're putting on these coaches to enable them to get across the Channel."
Airport disruption
Meanwhile, severe weather warnings remain in place in northern parts of the UK and freezing conditions have continued to disrupt travel.
Snow fell in Northern Ireland, western Scotland and north-western parts of England, and temperatures are expected to remain below freezing.
Ambulance services have urged people to take extra care walking and driving and to wrap up warm.
At Bristol International Airport hundreds of people were stranded when Easyjet scrapped five flights.
Flights were grounded for 90 minutes at Manchester Airport on Sunday morning as staff moved snow and de-iced a runway.
There have been delays at Belfast International Airport after it closed but later reopened, and Inverness Airport has also been disrupted.
Eurostar passenger Claire McKinney Williams, who is 35 weeks pregnant and unable to fly, was stranded at a hotel in Brussels.
She told the BBC: "It's been very disruptive. We haven't had any help, we've been over to Eurostar in the station, and they've not been very helpful, they haven't given us any help on alternative ways home or anything."
'Out of touch'
Eurostar chief executive Richard Brown asked people not to travel unless it was essential.
He said: "When we resume service it's going to be very busy, we're not going to be able to carry everyone who's booked yesterday, today and during this week."
Passengers who have suffered delays will be offered a full refund, £150 compensation and a free return ticket.
The compensation would be offered until the backlog of passengers was cleared and the service was back to normal.
Nirj Deva, Conservative MEP for the South East of England, said he wanted the Eurostar chief executive to step down.
The company had not been adequately prepared for the situation, and Mr Brown should therefore "do the decent thing" and resign, he said.
Mr Brown told BBC Breakfast he was "very, very sorry" for the inconvenience and described events as "unprecedented".
He admitted it had taken a "very long time" to evacuate people from the trains.
"Clearly, if you're on a train stranded in a tunnel, it is a distressing experience," he said.
He conceded it took too long to get trains out to people and said while trains had spare water, it ran out.
Shadow transport secretary Theresa Villiers said the disruption was a "catastrophe" for people trapped trying to get home for Christmas.
She said: "After a reprieve from BA strikes, it is a huge concern to see travellers hit so hard by this crisis."
On Sunday, all ferry services from Dover to Dunkirk, Boulogne and Calais were running, and traffic queues had eased.
The Port of Dover said traffic was running freely on the A2 and A20 into Dover, and freight traffic stuck on the M20 was being called forward in batches to be shipped across the Channel.
